Vitamin B6 and arteriosclerosis.
Nagoya J Med Sci 1993 Mar 55:1-4 1-9
Abstract
In 1949, Rinehart and Greenberg reported that marked
arteriosclerosis occurs in vitamin-B6-deficient monkeys. The
present study investigates the relationship between vitamin B6
and arteriosclerosis and summarizes the results. I found that
thrombogenesis, disorder of collagen metabolism and production of
free radicals may be the processes that cause arteriosclerosis in
human and experimental animals with vitamin B6 deficiency.
