• NEO-E Plus Capsules are made of wheat germ oil which is rich in natural vitamin E and some polyunsaturated fatty acids such as linoleic acid and linolenic acid.

Usage

• Vitamin E, carotenoids, and vitamin C, the three main dietary sources of antioxidants, each effect lipid peroxidation and may reduce atherogenesis and lower the risk of coronary heart disease (CHD). The evidence for a cardiovascular benefit of antioxidants is strongest for vitamin E.
• Large epidemiological studies have revealed that vitamin E levels in plasma are inversely correlated to the incidence of coronary heart disease.
• Three large prospective studies find that vitamin E supplement users have approximately 40% lower rates of CHD. Many other observational studies have also reported vitamin E to reduce the risk of cardiovascular disease.
• Vitamin E is required to protect polyunsaturated fatty acids against auto-oxidation. Important functions such as protection against oxidative damage, immune response, are related to vitamin E intakes.
• Vitamin E is necessary for healthy immune function and helps develop and maintain nerves and muscles.
• Evidence from animal and human studies indicates that vitamin E plays an important role in the maintenance of the immune system. Even a marginal vitamin E deficiency impairs the immune response, while supplementation with higher than recommended dietary levels of vitamin E enhances humoral and cell-mediated immunity. The current RDA level of vitamin E prevents clinical deficiency syndrome but in some situations, especially in older subjects or in a disease state, fails to maintain optimal host defense.
• Alzheimer's disease (AD) is characterized by a gradual decline in 3 domains: cognition, behavior, and function. Recent reports indicate that vitamin E is also a promising agents under study for cognitive enhancement or protection.
• As early as the sixties, first case reports have described beneficial effects of vitamin E in the therapy of osteoarthritis. Newer studies have shown a beneficial effect in rheumatic diseases, mainly in the reduction of pain.
• Studies demonstrate that much higher vitamin E intakes are safe.
