-
Free radical production occurs continuously in all cells as part of normal cellular function. However, excess free radical production originating from endogenous or exogenous sources might play a role in many diseases.
Antioxidants prevent free radical induced tissue damage by preventing the formation of radicals, scavenging them, or by promoting their decomposition.
- All the vitamins and trace elements contained in this product act as
antioxidants
which play important role in the maintenance of a healthy body. Modern nutrition research has provided clear evidence from extensive investigations that marginal deficiencies in micronutrients such as vitamins, minerals, trace elements and secondly plant products can cause subtle but relevant alterations in body functions.
- There is a large body of evidence suggesting that
free-radical production can directly or indirectly play
a major role in cellular processes implicated in atherosclerosis and carcinogenesis.
- Several epidemiological and clinical studies have revealed potential roles for dietary
antioxidants in the age-associated decline of immune
function and the reduction of risk of morbidity and mortality from cancer and heart disease.
