Description

• FEMIWELL tablets are registered food supplement containing soy isoflavones, red clover extract and vitamin E for women health.
• Isoflavones  are structurally or functionally similar to steroidal estrogens of human body. The most investigated phytoestrogen isoflavones, genistein and daidzein, are found in soy products and the herb red clover. 
• Isoflavones  have recently attracted much attention of the medical scientific community. Their health beneficial effects have been shown in osteoporosis, cardiovascular diseases, cancer and menopausal symptoms.

Usage

• Isoflavones are biologically active compounds with diphenolic structure  that have a very limited distribution in nature. Soybeans and soy foods are, for practical purposes, the only nutritionally relevant dietary sources of isoflavones. 
• Isoflavones are hypothesized to exert hormonal effects in women and thus may play a role in bone metabolism throughout life. They also have important nonhormonal properties as well. 
• Initial speculation that soy foods, and in particular soy isoflavones, might promote bone health was based on the estrogenic properties of isoflavones and the similarity in structure between isoflavones and the osteoporosis drug, ipriflavone, which is a synthetic isoflavone. 
• Most research, but not all,  indicates that menopausal symptoms and bone density may be favorably influenced by soy foods rich in isoflavones. 
• It has been proposed that the high intake of soy foods among Asians may partly explain their lower rates of breast cancer, endometrial and ovarian cancer, menopausal symptoms and coronary artery disease.
• One of the ways these phytoestrogen isoflavones appear to work is interesting. Although they are less powerful than the body's own estrogen, they latch on to the same places (receptor sites) on cells and don't allow actual estrogen to attach. In this way, when there is not enough estrogen in the body, isoflavones can partially make up for it; but when there is plenty of estrogen, they can partially block its influence. The net effect may be to reduce some of the risks of excess estrogen (breast and uterine cancer) while still providing some of estrogen's benefits such as preventing osteoporosis (from The Natural Pharmacist). 
• red clover has been used for many purposes worldwide, the one condition most consistently associated with red clover is cancer. Chinese physicians and Russian folk healers also used it to treat respiratory problems. Recently, red clover products have been marketed as a treatment for menopausal symptoms.
